Dane lost his first tooth.... 5 years, 4 months, and 19 days after the tooth came in -- it's gone. I know it sounds silly -- but the thought that he'll never again have a baby tooth right there is really tugging at my ole' heart strings -- mushy lady that I am....
Here is the tooth: (you grossed out yet?)

and if you can believe it, I just ran smack dab into the tooth fairy .... here's what Dane will wake up to:

and a close up of the special note:

The note states when his first tooth was -- and the date of his first lost tooth -- the note says:
Good Morning, Dane!!
Last night when I was flying in Gilbert, AZ I saw that you had left a tooth for me! What a fine tooth it is, too! It will be one of the best in my collection, I think.
Losing a tooth means you are growing up and you have many new experiences to look forward to. Your baby teeth have to fall out to make room for your grown up teeth.
Dane, you must be sure to take excellent care of your grown up teeth so you will have them all of your life. That means that you must brush often, and eat the right foods!
To thank you for leaving such a fine and important tooth for me, I have left a special little something for you too. It’s a very special coin. It is a golden Sacagawea dollar coin. This beautiful coin is worth ONE WHOLE DOLLAR.
Your friend, The Tooth Fairy
